Overview

Hardware trust for systems already in service.

Critical environments often depend on equipment that cannot simply be replaced. The External VANTHRAX Security Chip brings hardware-anchored protection to compatible systems already in service.

EVSC is designed for the long operational lifetimes typical of infrastructure, industrial and institutional environments.

Capabilities

Key capabilities

  1. 01

    External hardware trust anchor

A dedicated secure element that brings hardware-anchored protection to hosts that lack it internally.

  2. 02

    Protection for legacy systems

Designed for equipment that must stay in service for years, where replacement is impractical or impossible.

  3. 03

    Secure device identity

Gives the host a cryptographic identity that is difficult to clone, so it can be recognized and trusted on the network.

  4. 04

    Physical presence verification

Attachment and removal of the module are visible to security policy, so its absence never goes unnoticed.

How it works

How a host gains a trust anchor

EVSC and its host establish trust through a short, explicit exchange before protection begins.

  1. 01

    Attach

The module is connected to a compatible host, and its presence is registered.

  2. 02

    Identify

EVSC presents its cryptographic identity to the host and to policy.

  3. 03

    Verify

The module and its state are confirmed before it is trusted with any operation.

  4. 04

    Protect

Keys and identity operations run inside EVSC; removal is visible to policy immediately.

Architecture

Layer 1: Hardware Integrity

Trust begins in silicon.

EVSC operates within the VANTHRAX five-layer architecture at Hardware Integrity. A verified foundation is established before any software runs. Keys, identity and boot integrity are anchored in dedicated hardware that higher layers can rely on.

  • Self-contained secure element in a hardened external enclosure
  • Provides cryptographic identity and key protection to the host
  • Works with VCP where the host platform supports it
  • Removal and presence are visible to security policy

Deployment

Deployment considerations

  • Attached to compatible legacy hardware and connected devices
  • Compatibility is assessed per environment
  • Technical specifications are shared during product briefings

VANTHRAX does not publish performance figures, certifications or compatibility lists on this website. Detailed technical information is provided directly, under briefing.
